About Us
Welcome. A work of literature, of any genre, is a vessel which can be filled with ideas, concepts and truths, which are our own and are inalienable, a pure exposition of the human condition. If people and systems are genuine, then, perhaps, proof is in their transparency. Who am I? I am an artist, sculptor and teacher. Many contrasting passions and hobbies led me to set up this website developed from the experiences I'd had and the resultant needs that I perceived. Before the website, however, came my book. I felt that I needed to try to capture my primary passions, experiences and interests in a book on art and sculpture. A book which would pull together the major strands which had run through my life for over 25 years, something which would reflect my artistic values and attitudes to people and events. Like many nascent authors I had to research, write, compile, lay out, proof-read and then rewrite the book (several times!), and at the end of this exhaustive process I hit the wall. How and where does one find a publisher or an agent? How does Writers' Nexus International work? Writers' Nexus International has been developed to make communication easy and positive, to proactively make the most from the contacts available for writers, publishers and agents. To achieve this the site has been designed to maximise the best of traditional - and new - methods of contacting publishers and agents. Individual contacts have been made to all 3,000-plus industry professionals who are currently registered. We have combined tried and tested methods with the best new technology has to offer, which makes your contacts for you and makes assessing your work a positive and worthwhile experience for publishers and agents. We continue to look for the most efficient ways to promote your work. Philosophy Writers' Nexus International is the result of a sequence of philosophical and practical experiences. Personally I have an antipathy to the status quo. The "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" dictum has always left me feeling unfulfilled, as individuals with much to contribute have been prevented from doing so by the current strictures of society and of our daily lives. I believe that the rules by which we govern our own lives, or create for ourselves (our society), need to be analysed, altered and when necessary swept aside. I also believe that the worlds we create in literature are fundamentaly real and life-affirming. The weft and warp where these worlds coincide - harmonise and conflict - give us the opportunity to question, criticise and grow. The medium of the written word is the most valuable tool we have to do this. The book is the arena where the magic of creativity, intellect and education examines truths and creates realities. He hoped and prayed that there wasn't an afterlife. Then he realized there was a contradiction involved here and merely hoped that there wasn't an afterlife.
